Dr. Bertrand attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana and then obtained his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport. His residency in Emergency Medicine was completed at the University of Arkansas for the Medical Sciences.
Dr. Bertrand spent the next 16 years working at the flagship hospital for Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas. He served as Vice-Chair of the emergency department and assistant medical Director for the Med Flight helicopter program. This was the first helicopter program in Arkansas to respond to Trauma scenes cases.
He moved to the DFW metroplex in 2014 and began working at BSW-Grapevine. He joined BEST EMS in 2020 and is now medical Director for Hurst Fire Department, Parker County Hospital District EMS, Gaylord EMS, Everman Fire department, and Kennendale Fire Department.
In his free time Dr. Bertrand enjoys traveling and sailing with his wife Cindy, and family activities with his two daughters.
